Dove Season Starts Today

Today is the first day of Dove season for most of America. While, living in New York City, I do not forsee dove hunting in my near future. However, this is a popular sportin Texas and according to my dad, the biggest day following my birthday. In the spirit of this shooting, killing and perhaps eating this fancy foul, I would like to draw your attention to this delicious looking recipe for:

Dove Poppers:

~boneless dove breasts, amount depends upon hungry you are
~ your favorite seasonings
~ bacon slices, cut in half, one per breast
~ fresh jalapeno peppers, cut into slices
~ sliced cheddar cheese
~ toothpicks

Season the breasts with your favorite seasonings. Grill over medium heat to desired doneness. In the meantime, cook the bacon until done but NOT crispy. Drain on paper towels. When the breasts are done, place a small slice of cheese and a jalapeno slice on each and wrap with a slice of bacon. Secure with a toothpick. Place on a cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Bake at 400 degrees until the cheese is melted. Serve and enjoy.

While that's cooking, check out and/or download Prince's 80's classic When Dove's Cry . Finally, if you wanna get REALLY crazy, rub yourself in Dove Chocolate and then wash it off with Dove Soap.

* Can anyone tell me why the state bird of Utah is a
Sea Gull?
